Student Protection Policy

This policy expresses the commitment to providing a safe and supportive learning environment, the prevention of harm to students and to responding appropriately when an employee or volunteer reasonably suspects harm or risk of harm to students.

All employees and volunteers in Safety Cooperation Services LLC are required to support students who are victims of harm, or at risk of harm and, where appropriate and permitted by law, work in partnership with other statutory agencies that are involved in student protection.

Safety Cooperation Services LLC has additional responsibilities for the care and wellbeing of students or trainees and in providing safe environments.

These are:

  • A duty of care to students;
  • A responsibility as mandated notifiers;
  • The provision of curriculum relevant to student protection for all students; and
  • A code of conduct that affirms the standards of behavior that are expected of all employees
  • Safety briefing to all students including emergency response procedures
  • The safety, protection and wellbeing of all students are fundamental and will be promoted throughout the Safety Cooperation Services LLC including through the provision of relevant training courses.
  • All employees and volunteers must follow the Safety Cooperation Services LLC's Student Protection Policy in relation to reporting of near miss, harm, and in suspicions of inappropriate behavior of employees, to students.
  • All employees will have access to regular training and professional development in relation to responding to concerns around student harm.
  • All volunteer induction must include information in relation to responding to concerns around student harm.
  • The Safety Cooperation Services LLC's Student Protection Policy shall be implemented, reviewed and maintained in accordance with legislative requirements.
